Halle Johns
Halle spent most of her life living in New England and the Tri-State area, with a brief but significant stint in Belgium. She moved to Maine to attend Bates College, where she graduated in 2016 with a degree in Rhetoric and a concentration in film. At Bates, Halle’s interest in film expanded past the classroom towards involvement with the college’s Digital Media Studios, and then work at Galileo Media Arts in Saratoga Springs, New York. She has co-produced short videos for both Bates and independent groups. Halle got her first taste of Midcoast Maine through a Maine Media Workshops course in 2014, and she was determined to return. Halle joined the Compass Light team in the summer of 2016 as an associate producer and assistant editor. After taking a year to study at the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies, where she produced, shot and edited the documentary "Shoulder Season", Halle returned to Compass Light as an editor. In her spare time she enjoys baking (scones are her strong suit), running, hiking, and quilting.
